Bay County Chamber Celebrates 80 Years of Military Affairs Committee
Anniversary reception honors eight decades of military-community partnership and recognizes Lt. Gen. Bradford R. Everman and Congressman Neal Dunn
Panama City, Fla. — The Bay County Chamber of Commerce will commemorate the 80th anniversary of its Military Affairs Committee (MAC) during a special anniversary reception Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at Hotel Indigo in downtown Panama City.
For eight decades, the Military Affairs Committee has worked to strengthen the relationship between Bay County’s military installations, service members and the local business community. The anniversary celebration will recognize that legacy while bringing together military leaders, Chamber members and community partners who continue that work today.
The evening will also recognize two distinguished leaders with strong ties to Bay County’s military community.
The Chamber and MAC will welcome Lt. Gen. Bradford R Everman, who recently assumed command of First Air Force (Air Forces Northern), headquartered at Tyndall Air Force Base.
The reception will also recognize Congressman Neal Dunn for his tenure in public office and his support of Bay County and the region’s military missions.
“For 80 years, the Military Affairs Committee has represented the strong and enduring relationship between Bay County’s business community and the men and women who serve our nation,” said Shane Boyett, Military Affairs Committee Chairman. “This anniversary is an opportunity to honor the people who built that relationship, recognize the leaders carrying it forward, and reaffirm our community’s commitment to supporting the military missions that are such an important part of Bay County.”
As part of the anniversary celebration, the Chamber will debut a special tribute video highlighting MAC’s history and legacy. MAC members will also receive newly created commemorative coins marking the committee’s 80th anniversary.
The Military Affairs Committee has long served as a bridge between the local business and military communities, fostering relationships and advocating for the service members, families, and instillations that contribute to Bay County’s economy, identity and quality of life.
